Trophy Husband Party!!!

This past weekend we had a good ol' time here at the Petronis house! We held our 2nd annual Trophy Husband party...redneck theme.

What a hilarious time!!!

We had the same crowd as last year, a really great group of friends, and it was a blast! I have to say, if you need a laugh, belly achin' kind of laughs, throw a redneck/white trash bash! It was great. Everyone dressed the part...mullets, wife beaters, cut off jean shorts, flip flops, high tops, or no shoes at all...it was great. So great.

Just looking at your friends all dressed up, trying to carry on a normal conversation was enough entertainment!!! But I added some games to the mix (think...dizy bat, plungers, toilet paper) and the newly wed game. There were gag gifts, Christmas lights strung, deer heads for decoration and Nascar everywhere.

Here are some pics of the decorations...
My front yard...ain't she beautiful?

Hotdog Bar!!!

I couldn't resist...had to paint a giant hotdog for a background.

Toppings included, potato chips, cheese, onions, chili, baked beans, coleslaw, jalapenos, relish, bacon, mustard and, well, ketchup...duh!

I'm sneaking a little shot of some of the guys helping themselves to a hotdog...I promised everyone no embarrassing pics on my blog, but I can't help but post this. hehehe

And if you eat all of your hotdog you get dessert, of course!!!

Only the finest pastries for this crowd!

Swiss cake rolls and pink Sno Balls, w/ toppers I made to really run the theme into the ground. ;)

I finally had an excuse to bring out all the fine china...

Aren't these cups perfect!?! Found them at Walmart...then I made them a little more fancy w/ the duct tape (also found at Walmart).

The wine glasses were made by glueing glass candle stick holders onto jars. I took it an extra step by adding feathers and animal print. FANCY!!! Me and my man, Bubba Jr. Go ahead, you can say it.... I'm one lucky lady! ;)
You BEST not be lookin' at my man y'all!!!!!!! ;)

Children's Storybook Cake

This sweet little storybook cake was created for my friend Delaine who is due (in three weeks) with her first baby. Today was her shower to celebrate her and her little boy who will be arriving any day now! Guests were asked to bring a book in lieu of a card to help start a nice collection of books for the family. And the theme for the cake was born!

I tried to incorporate some of the most popular children's books out there...

The Poky Little Puppy

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie

Where The Wild Things Are

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

And no storybook cake would be complete without representation from Mother Goose and Dr Seuss, so I paired up the two to top it all off!

Congrats sweet Delaine! We can't wait to meet your little man!!!!

Cakeballs!! Anyone? Anyone??

They look good don't they??

You should order some!!!!

This weekend I'm having a special...12 cake balls for $10. All proceeds go towards Sawnee Elementary's annual boosterthon. The school is having a fun run next Thursday and each student is being challenged to find sponsers who will pledge money on their behalf. Some of the children in my daughter's class are having a difficult time finding sponsers due to their financial situations so I'm hoping to sell enough cake balls to get each child a sponser or two.

(I hate to think of anyone being left out of the fun!)

Think tailgating treat, family dessert or make yourself the Monday morning office hero! You can eat something yummy and help out a child (and a school!)!!!

Thats what I call having your cake and eating it too! :)

Orders need to be placed by Tuesday and picked up by Thursday.

Mad Hatter Tea Party

This cake was made for Alice who turns one today. Her parents are throwing her a Mad Hatter Tea Party to celebrate. They wanted a colorful fun cake for the occasion and what better than an orange, pink, green, yellow, turquoise and red cake! :)

I would have loved to do some sort of caddy wampus/topsy turvy design, but they had over an hour drive to get here so I got too nervous about the commute and decided to go with a more stable design. A teapot smash cake for the birthday girl. Covered in buttercream using the petal effect. This was my first time doing the petal technique and I love it! So easy to do, but such a great effect. Happy 1st birthday little Alice!!

Middle Name Reveal Cupcakes

This order of cupcakes was made for a friend of mine who is pregnant with her first baby. Originally this order was taken for a gender reveal party, but the excited couple couldn't hold in the good news from their family and friends. When they found out it was a little girl they had to tell everyone right away! :) (can you blame them!?!)

So the party turned into a name reveal party. Tonight they'll be revealing the baby's middle name to their family and friends....

Hagan ??????? Fowler

(no, her middle name isn't question mark...I just don't want to spoil the surprise in case anyone happends upon this post before the big reveal) ;)
